Hiding in plain sight

A days old black tailed deer fawn lies motionless in an orchard on a farm near Elkton in rural western Oregon on Friday, May 24, 2019. The fawn is probably not lost. According to the National Wildlife Federation, in most cases, female deer hide their newborn fawns in tall grass or brush and move some distance away to feed to avoid drawing predators to their offspring.

The fawn was a bit difficult to see at a distance.
