It's not easy being green

March 27, 2010 - Oakland, Oregon, USA- A wild Pacific tree frog sits near a small pond on a farm near Oakland, Oregon on Saturday, March 27, 2010. Pacific tree frogs are the most common frogs on the west coast of North America. Most Pacific tree frog populations are healthy, but there is some evidence of declines. Dramatic declines in other amphibian populations have been noted since the 1980s from locations all over the world.
Also known as the The Pacific Chorus Frog. They're out in huge numbers this time of year. Check out more of my nature pictures here. I sell puzzles and prints of my images.

Bugshooter.com?

I've been a member of sportshooter.com for several years. I've never considered myself a great sports photographer, but I can hold my own against most newspaper shooters. Now that I'm working for myself, I'm not really shooting any sports (so far). I'm still keeping my membership page on the sportsshooter.com website, but I seem to be posting pictures of brides, bugs, and blossoms.

If you're interested in seeing more of my Oregon wedding photography check out my website. I'm also a commercial photographer and I shoot senior portraits in my Roseburg photo studio or on location.

Senior Portraits with Joanna

Joanna visited our ranch for her senior portraits yesterday. The orchard is in bloom and it made for a great backdrop. The ranch is amazing for portraits, but I can travel to any location. Check my website for packages and prices or stop by my Roseburg Photography studio at 830 SE Rose St.

First wedding photography of the season

I'm shooting my first wedding of the season today. Last week the bride came into my Roseburg photography studio for bridal portraits. The ceremony is at a small chapel in the Umpqua area northwest of Roseburg. I'm covering the wedding in a photojournalism style, but we'll also take time for portraits.

Honey Bee

I think this honey bee needs a set of windshield wipers to get some of the pollen off her eyes. I found her working the dandelions at River Forks Park yesterday.

Hunting Heron

March 17, 2010 - ROSEBURG, Oregon, USA- A great blue heron leaps between rocks as it hunts in the rapids of the North Umpqua River near Roseburg, Ore. The species is the largest of the North American herons. (Credit Image: © Robin Loznak)
I've been waiting to catch a heron hunting in the river below the Winchester Dam for a while. I shot these with my 600mm and a 1.4x extender. The photo at top was shot at 1/13 of a second with the camera braced against a railing.

Roosevelt Elk

I found a small herd of Roosevelt elk feeding in a pasture near Tyee, Ore., this morning. They looked a bit rough around the edges after the long wet winter, but they are still amazing animals.

Check out a gallery of my nature photos. Framed prints and canvas art prints are available.

Cute and Hairy

A group of baby nutria cluster together for warmth near a pond in Roseburg on Wednesday. Some people think nutria are disgusting, but I think at least the babies are adorable. Check out more of my critter pictures at here.

I also take pictures of adorable human babies. Check out my portrait and commercial website to see more.
