Pileated woodpecker in Oregon
A pileated woodpecker forages for insects under the bark of a moss covered dead oak tree on a forested hillside near Elkton in rural western Oregon on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017. It is the second-largest woodpecker in the United States, after the critically endangered and possibly extinct, ivory-billed woodpecker.
