A grasshopper perches on the points of a teasel head growing in a swampy area near Oakland, Ore., on Saturday, Sept. 24. The teasel plant is native to Europe, Asia and Africa. In traditional medicine the teasel plant was used as an antibiotic, to improve circulation, and as a cure for warts.
