Dungeness crab in western Oregon

Fishing guide TODD HANNAH measures the carapace of a Dungeness crab while crabbing on his boat on the Umpqua River near its mouth at the Pacific Ocean in western Oregon on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018. In 2009 the Dungeness crab was designated as the state crustacean of Oregon. Seafood Watch has given the Dungeness crab a sustainable seafood rating of 'Good Alternative' to overfished species or fish that is farmed in ways that harm other marine life or the environment.
