| A just born black tailed deer fawn lays motionless on a blacktop road in rural Douglas County near our home in southwestern Oregon on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Deer fawns typically play dead and wait for their mother to return when surprised by people or predators. The fawn was carefully moved off the roadway by a passing motorist. |
