A barn owl looks down from high in the rafters of a barn on a farm near Oakland, Ore., on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Barn owls, or other closely related subspecies, are distributed nearly worldwide. It is known by many names including white owl, silver owl, demon owl, ghost owl, death owl, church owl, monkey-faced owl, and hobgoblin owl.
The barn has a pair of barn owls. The mate of this one flew out before I could get a photo. Hopefully they'll have owlets! Nothing is cuter than a group of barn owl babies.
