Katydid

A katydid clings to the top of a wooden fencepost along a pasture near Oakland, Ore., on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011. Katydids, which are also known as long-horned grasshoppers, are actually more closely related to crickets than to grasshoppers. In England they are known as bush crickets.
