Little tigers

Two rufous hummingbirds confront each other on a barbed wire fence along a pasture in rural Douglas County near Roseburg, Ore., on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. The tiny rufous hummingbird is known to travel over 2,000 miles on its yearly migration from Mexico to the western United States.
I love how these little birds seem pretty unafraid of humans.  They're so small and fast it's almost like they live in a different time-space continuum. Shot with my 600mm f/4 with a 1.4x teleconverter on my trusty Nikon D3s DSLR. It's a killer combo.
