Shadow Play

Cindy Sanders, shadow at left, watches as Avry Hanson, 9, takes her horse over a jump at Sanders' Wishing Well Farm in Ten Mile, Ore., last week.

The play of shadows on the wall of the stable during this photo shoot at Wishing Well Farm last week make this photo work. I used a single Nikon SB-800 flash fired with a Pocket Wizard remote.

I can shoot action portraits on location anyplace at almost anytime. Check my website to see more samples of my work...http://www.robinloznak.com/.
I offer a full line of prints, photo products, and online galleries which can be posted on Facebook or emailed to friends and family.

Water Dog

Any chance he gets our lab William is in the water. This time of year the puddles are growing into ponds and the ponds into lakes. At least someone in the family loves the rainy wet winter.

Face the Nation

Bob Schieffer had a commentary on Face the Nation about dogs this morning. On the CBS website they used one of my photos to illustrate the story. It's the picture of the dog not the one of Bob. Take a look at my website to see more of my photos.

Goose Grab and Release

I shot this while on an assignment for The News-Review a few days ago. I was surprised when Mr. Smith reached in and grabbed the goose by the neck. I think the goose was even more surprised. It seemed to end well with the bird walking away into a nearby field. Read the story here.

Tracey Smith, left, pulls a Canada goose from a pet carrier while his wife, Ellen, granddaughter Tracey Smith, 15, and neighbor Ed LaPlante help out near their home in Winston on Wednesday. The goose appeared reluctant to be set free after recovering from injuries suffered last month.

Four Minute Portrait

It's been crazy busy at my job at The News-Review for the last couple of weeks. I've been shooting six or seven assignments a day. With driving time and computer time I don't get much shooting time. I've developed what I like to call the "four minute portrait".
I show up on location, chat with the subject for a minute or two, shoot a portrait, and say goodbye. It's not the best form of photojournalism, but with my wacky schedule I do what needs to get done.
