Rain, rain, go away

Rain falls as a female American kestrel hunts from her perch on a utility wire near Elkton in rural southwestern Oregon. The National Weather Service is predicting rain through Wednesday for the area. In comparison to other falcons in the United States, American Kestrels exhibit stark sexual dimorphism in coloration and body size. The females are larger, while the males have more colorful plumage.
