Territorial dispute

A pair of great blue herons interact along the Umpqua River near Elkton in rural southwestern Oregon. The two birds seemed to be having a disagreement over territory. Despite their impressive size, great blue herons weigh only 5 to 6 pounds thanks in part to their hollow bones—a feature all birds share.

The two angry birds flew off in opposite directions before any violence ensued.
