Someone woke up on the wrong side of the nestbox

In the late afternoon, a wild western screech owl looks out from its nest box in a tree along a country road near Elkton in rural western Oregon on Friday, Oct. Oct. 2, 2020. Screech owls are primarily nocturnal. The little owl was probably just waking up after a day of sleeping in the box.
