Unclaimed and forgotten veterans funeral

The unclaimed cremated remains of four World War I veterans are transported by horse drawn buggy through the Roseburg National Cemetery in southern Oregon on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Twenty-eight veterans, whose remains were discovered in storage at a Roseburg funeral home and waited unclaimed for as long as 44 years, are finally being laid to rest at the cemetery.
About half of the men served in World War II. Four were born before 1900. Most of the unclaimed veterans died in the 1970s and 1980s.
