A newly hatched wild turkey chick walks with its mother through a field of grass near the Umpqua River in southwestern Oregon on Aug. 4, 2018. Most wild turkeys hatch their young earlier in the season in western Oregon.
The turkey family walks into an open area briefly on their jaunt through the grass. The mother turkey seemed to mostly be eating wild blackberries on the edge of the field while her young followed along.
