Jacob sheep

I noticed this strange looking sheep while driving near Wilbur, Ore., this morning so I snapped a photo and did a little research...
The Jacob sheep is a rare heirloom breed descended from an ancient Old World line of sheep.  The modern Jacob sheep may be descended from a breed mentioned in the story of Jacob from the first book of the Hebrew Bible. A very similar breed was also know to have existed in the region now known as Syria about 3000 years ago.  In modern times the sheep is used for ornamental purposes and sometimes as a guard sheep.
The Sacramento Bee picked up my sheep photo, via ZUMApress.com today.
