The praying manis menace Gimantis

A praying mantis climbs on a fence while a fly cruises nearby in a garden in Kellogg, Ore., on Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.  Mantises are exclusively predatory. They mostly eat other insects, but larger species have been known to prey on small lizards, frogs, birds, snakes, fish and even rodents. (Credit Image: © Robin Loznak)

The mantis is probably the coolest insect in the world.  They're fast and efficient killers of other bugs, non-dangerous to humans, and amazing looking. Children in Asia sometimes keep them as pets.

Check out the appearance of Gimantis in this trailer for Son of Godzilla. Probably the funniest and campiest of the old Godzilla movies.
