Foggy morning on the ranch

It was a foggy spring-like morning on the ranch yesterday.

Milk monster

A 3-week-old kitten is left with a milky mustache after being bottle fed at a veterinary clinic in Canyonville on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. The kitten and its litter mates are being hand raised by the staff a the clinic after the kittens were found abandoned next to a garbage dumpster at a local grocery store. 

New newts on the way

A pair of pregnant rough skinned newts swim in a glass container after being pulled from a pond near Elkton in rural southwestern Oregon on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016. It's mating and egg laying season in Oregon for the amphibians. Rough skinned newts are highly toxic and their colorful underbellies serve as a warning to potential predators. The newts were returned unharmed to the pond. 

Tastes like chicken?

Ranch life in Oregon

A pair of curious lambs inspect a large crow in a pasture on a farm near Elkton. The crow was not interested in getting to know the lambs and pecked the white lamb on the nose. It's lambing season in southwestern Oregon.
