Growing fawns

A black tailed deer doe leaps over her fawn after the little one attempted to nurse in the grassy field. The doe is weaning her fast growing fawn off of her milk and won't let it nurse.

Got out of the house early and found a few interesting subjects. The morning light is great, but the day comes on strong and it's over fast.

Caught in the act

The berry bandit (Pacific banana slug) was caught in the act of nibbling a blossom in a strawberry patch at a home near Elkton, Ore., on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015. The slippery character appeared to look up and give a sideways grin before making his grand escape.

Feeding time

An Argiope aurantia spider, commonly  know as the yellow garden spider, black and yellow garden spider, golden garden spider, writing spider, or corn spider feeds on a grasshopper from its web in a hazelnut tree in an orchard near Roseburg on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. Considered non-aggressive, Argiope spider venom contains toxins which can cause a painful swelling similar to a bee sting.
